New tunes blasting around my ears

I was browsing Amazon MP3 last night, bored, and looking for some new releases … to my delight, I found a couple of new tunes to grace my iPod. I picked up the new Local H record 12 Angry Months and found, much to my surprise, a new Filter record after 6 years in various other musical forms. The challenge set out by Idolator was just too hard to refuse, so this morning I played a bit of Double Dare with the new tunes, and as expected, Anthems For The Damned was disappointing, seems he has been hanging around with the STP boys a bit too much over the past few years. But who knows? it might grow on me, as someone with an “an extensive, eclectic CD collection“.

12 Angry Months is something i’m looking forward to putting on, and turning it up to ELEVEN!

Here is something I found on YouTube this week as well, some kick-ass new Metallica tunes, excited about this one, I like what i’ve heard so far, especially with Lars now playing without a click-track since Kill ‘Em All! Check out some of the footage: Metallica: New Album Sneek Peek.

GreenPIX create solar powered LCD billboard

GreenPix have just launched this super cool solar-powered LCD Billboard on the streets of Beijing ready for the Olympics, in just under 100 days.

Featuring the largest colour LED display worldwide and the first photovoltaic system integrated into a glass curtain wall in China, the building performs as a self-sufficient organic system, harvesting solar energy by day and using it to illuminate the screen after dark, mirroring a day’s climatic cycle.

Guess there is hope for Sydney’s Kings Cross Coke sign yet…

nin – discipline

Discipline is the new single by Nine Inch Nails, their first since the split with Universal. A promo was released to US radio on April 22, 2008, consequently, the new track was also made available as a free MP3 download via the Nine Inch Nails’ official website. It was mastered by Alan Moulder less than 24 hours prior to release.

As with all new nin recordings, the the track and the multitrack files for remixing, were made available via nin.com for free download. Also, a video has emerged online of Trent starting to sign all of the Limited Edition versions of Ghosts I-IV. Check out the video and his wonky grip Trent Signing Ghosts I-IV
